This is my fourth year at St. Cecilia and I am excited to be able to be back with such a great community of teachers, students, and parents. This is my second year as a 4th grade teacher, however previous to this I was the 3rd grade teacher at Saint Cecilia and an aide in the 3rd grade at a parochial school in Burlingame. I love the curriculum in 4th grade and look forward to a fantastic year with all of your children!
I graduated from the University of San Francisco in June 2012 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Reading. I am a certified reading specialist through the state of California and I hope to bring my love of reading to your children! I am a firm believer in differentiating instruction to fit the diverse learning styles that are presented in the classroom.
My mission as a teacher is to teach to the whole student. My goal is to guide my students’ education through academic and moral development. I want to provide enriching activities that both inspire and challenge my students. I believe in developing analytical thinking while fostering creativity and inspiring a love of learning. I aspire to create life-long readers and learners who appreciate and work for their education. I try to encourage and challenge my students to take social, emotional, and academic risks, so that they experience greater self-confidence and success. I believe in encouraging failures and mistakes as opportunities to learn, so that when students do succeed the reward is greater. I hope to contribute to my students’ moral and educational development during the brief time they are with me during their time at Saint Cecilia.
I look forward to an exciting and successful 2015-2016 school year!
